SnipReel
Terms of Service
Effective 4 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Red Mug Studios LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("we", "us"), which operates SnipReel. They cover the SnipReel iOS app, the website at snipreel.app and the service behind them. By creating an account or using SnipReel you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use SnipReel. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
What SnipReel does
SnipReel turns long videos into short clips. You upload a video or paste a link to one; we transcribe it, pick highlight moments, frame them for vertical screens and add captions, and you edit and export the clips. Videos can be up to 5 hours long. We may change, add, suspend or remove features at any time, including importing from links, and we don't promise that any feature will stay available.
Who can use SnipReel
You must be at least 13, and older where your country requires a parent's consent before an online service can use your data (up to 16 in some EU countries). If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use SnipReel only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. You confirm that you're not in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. If you use SnipReel for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Use an email address you can receive mail at. One person, one account: don't create extra accounts to collect more free credits. Tell us at support@snipreel.app straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
Your content
You keep all rights to the videos you upload or link and to the clips SnipReel makes from them. We claim no ownership.
So that we can provide SnipReel, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transcribe, analyse, edit, render and deliver your content, and to let our service providers do the same, only to provide SnipReel to you, keep it secure, fix problems and comply with the law. The licence ends when your content is deleted (see how long we keep it), except for copies the law requires us to keep, or that remain in backups and logs until they expire on that schedule. We don't use your content to train AI models or for advertising.
You must have the rights
For every video you upload or link, you promise that:
- you own it, or you have every permission needed to copy, edit and publish it the way you do with SnipReel, including from the people who appear in it and the owners of any music or footage in it;
- you have any consent privacy laws require from the people who appear or speak in it; and
- bringing it into SnipReel is allowed by the terms of the site it comes from. When you paste a link, SnipReel retrieves the video for you: for YouTube, from your phone; for other sites, from our servers.
You're also responsible for what you do with your clips, including where you post them.
What you must not do
- Upload or link content that is illegal, infringes anyone's rights, sexually exploits children, or harasses, threatens or invades the privacy of others.
- Use SnipReel to break the law or another site's terms.
- Abuse the service: collecting free credits with several accounts, overloading or attacking our systems, getting around limits or the watermark, or using SnipReel other than through our app or website.
- Resell or rent out access to SnipReel.
- Copy, decompile or reverse engineer SnipReel, scrape it or access it with automated tools, or use it to build a competing service, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and respond to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Videos and clips are deleted from our servers automatically, but if you believe material on SnipReel infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent
Red Mug Studios LLC
1427 W Stone Meadow Dr
West Jordan, UT 84088
Phone: (801) 403-0847
Email: copyright@snipreel.app
Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- a description of the material you say infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it;
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
If we remove your material because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send our agent a counter-notice with: your physical or electronic signature; a description of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the US, any district in which we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice.
We will close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright.
Automated results
SnipReel picks clips, writes captions and frames shots automatically, using speech recognition, AI language models and face detection. The results can be wrong: captions can mishear words, clips can start or end at awkward moments, and the crop can miss the person speaking. Review every clip before you post it. You're responsible for what you publish.
Clip picks, captions and framing are automatic suggestions, not advice. We don't promise that any clip will be accurate, complete or suitable for a purpose, or that it will get views, followers or income. Features we label beta or experimental may change or stop, and may be less reliable.
Other companies' services
SnipReel works with services we don't control, including YouTube and the other sites you link to, Apple's App Store and sign-in, Google sign-in, and the providers that host and process SnipReel. They may change, limit or block what SnipReel can do with them at any time, and links or imports may stop working without notice. We aren't responsible for those services, their content or their terms, and your use of them is between you and them.
Credits
- One credit processes one minute of source video, rounded up. Credits are charged on the video's real length when processing starts.
- New accounts get 60 free credits, once per email address. Free credits don't expire.
- Plans add credits each month. Credits from a plan period stay spendable until 30 days after that period ends, then expire. Credits that expire soonest are spent first, and free credits last.
- If a job fails, the credits it used are returned automatically, except credits from a plan period that has already expired, which can't be returned.
- If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, the unspent credits it added are removed.
- Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged, and are lost when you delete your account or we close it for a breach of these terms.
- Clips made while you have no active plan and no unused plan credits carry a "Made with SnipReel" watermark. Subscribing later doesn't remove it from clips already made.
Subscriptions and payments
- Plans are monthly subscriptions sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- A subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel it in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting your SnipReel account does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law.
Apple
If you got SnipReel from the App Store, your licence to use the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). If the Standard EULA conflicts with these terms about your licence to use the app, the Standard EULA wins; for everything else, including how disputes between you and us are resolved, these terms apply.
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. As between us and Apple, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for SnipReel and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies and hasn't been effectively disclaimed, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the app's purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. As between us and Apple, we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, subject to the rest of these terms. As between us and Apple, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the app itself infringes someone's intellectual property (this doesn't cover content you bring into SnipReel). You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you.
Storage
Videos and clips are deleted from our servers 7 days after they are stored. Save or export anything you want to keep before then; we can't recover deleted content.
Ending your account
You can stop using SnipReel at any time, and you can delete your account in the app under Account → Delete account. We may suspend or close your account, or remove content: if you breach these terms (including by repeatedly infringing copyright); if the law, a court or a government authority requires it; or if we reasonably believe your account is being used for fraud or abuse or puts our systems or other people at risk. Where it's lawful and safe, we'll tell you why and let you respond. If we close your account for a reason other than your breach, or stop offering SnipReel, we'll give you reasonable notice where we can (at least 30 days if we stop offering SnipReel) so you can save your clips and use your plan credits, and we'll stop future subscription renewals.
Disclaimers and limits on our liability
SNIPREEL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT SNIPREEL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ITS RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT WILL BE KEPT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, NEITHER RED MUG STUDIOS LLC NOR ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO SNIPREEL, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF RED MUG STUDIOS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS, TAKEN TOGETHER, FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO SNIPREEL IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR SNIPREEL (INCLUDING THROUGH APPLE) IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM AND 100 US DOLLARS.
These limits apply to every kind of claim, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be excluded or limited, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights under consumer protection laws that can't be waived. If you live in New Jersey, the exclusions and limits in this section and in "Claims about your content" don't apply to claims for our gross negligence, recklessness or intentional misconduct, or to rights under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act that can't be waived.
Claims about your content
To the extent the law allows, you'll reimburse Red Mug Studios LLC and its members, managers, employees and agents for losses, damages and reasonable legal costs from a claim brought by someone else, to the extent the claim is caused by content you upload or link, your breach of these terms, or your breach of a law or of someone else's rights (including a video platform's terms). This doesn't apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own fault. We'll tell you promptly about any such claim. We may handle the defence ourselves, and you'll cooperate reasonably. We won't settle a claim in a way that makes you pay or admit fault without your consent.
Disputes
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Try to sort it out first. Before starting a claim, whoever has the claim must send the other a written notice. You send yours to support@snipreel.app or to our postal address under "Contact"; we send ours to the email address on your account. The notice must give your name and account email, describe what happened and say what you want. If it isn't resolved within 60 days after the notice arrives, either of us may start a claim. Time limits for bringing the claim are paused from the day the notice arrives until those 60 days end. This doesn't stop either of us from going to court straight away to prevent urgent, irreparable harm.
Courts. Claims go to the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless you're a consumer and the law where you live lets you bring the claim in your local courts. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction.
Outside the United States. If you're a consumer outside the United States, including in the EU or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as SnipReel changes. We'll post the new version here with a new date. For a significant change (including any change to prices or credits, your rights in your content, our limits on liability, or "Disputes"), we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect (or sooner only where the law requires a change), and we may ask you to accept it in the app. Once you've accepted these terms, later changes apply only from the date they take effect and never to a dispute that arose before then or that either of us had already given notice of. If you keep using SnipReel after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, stop using SnipReel, delete your account and cancel your subscription in your Apple settings.
General
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer these terms to someone who takes over SnipReel; you may not transfer them. These terms (and, for your licence to use the app, Apple's Standard EULA) are the whole agreement between you and us about SnipReel. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data; it isn't part of this agreement. Parts that by their nature should outlast your account (including disclaimers, limits on liability, claims about your content, and disputes) survive it. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You agree that we can send you notices electronically, by email or in the app. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship.
